Red Convict Chalice Coral Frag

The Red Convict Chalice is a striking encrusting LPS coral, admired for its bold crimson colouration, sharply defined patterning and exceptional fluorescent highlights. Its dramatic contrast and textured surface create an unmistakable appearance, making it a standout addition for reef keepers who appreciate corals with real visual character.

Rather than drawing attention through movement, the Red Convict Chalice rewards closer inspection. Distinctive colour boundaries, raised corallites and intricate surface detail combine to create a coral that reveals something new from every angle. Under blue-spectrum lighting, the vibrant pigments intensify beautifully, with the contrasting colours becoming even more pronounced as the coral fluoresces.

As the colony gradually spreads across the rockwork, every new area of growth develops its own subtle variations in colour and texture, ensuring no two mature colonies ever look exactly alike. Its slow, deliberate growth transforms a single frag into a richly detailed centrepiece that continues to evolve over time.

Whether displayed on its own or alongside other premium Chalice corals, the Red Convict Chalice Coral Frag offers bold colour, intricate patterning and the rewarding experience of watching a living work of art develop year after year.
